Of course, having a celebration with your friends and family for your birthday is optional, but do you want to just forget about your special day all together?

I think birthdays should be celebrated for many reasons. After all, without a birthday, you wouldn’t be alive! This week was my birthday, and I had a great time celebrating with my family. In most cultures, birthdays should be at least be celebrated with a little gift, party, treat, etc. I’m going to show you why birthdays are important, and why you should celebrate them.

Take each year as a sign of accomplishment, and achievement. After all, you have gotten through all these years learning new things, going on adventures, spending time with your friends, even fails. If you fail something, never beat yourself up. Instead, take it as a sign to try harder next time. Every time you turn a certain age, you are also capable to do certain stuff, like when your turn a young age you can start playing on a rec sports team. Once you get way older, you can work your way up to a pro athlete. It requires work, practice, strength and more, but it is always worth it in the end, because you build skill practically for anything throughout the years. That goes for anything as well, like talent, work, and any kind of skill! You also don’t have to stick with one skill for your whole life, you can practice new skills and try new adventures. That is a great part about growing up and celebrating. You should also be thankful how you are still living, because think of how many people die every day (sorry if this is a bit much, but just think about it…); from a disease, unhealthiness, etc.

I do not want to leave this article with a boring or sad ending, so why don’t you close your eyes and think about two or more things you are grateful for, think about an accomplishment you’ve made over the years, and think about your birthday next year. I hope I put a smile on your face today! Comment below what your accomplishment and the two things you were grateful for was, and thanks for reading!
